Weston-super-Mare teen overcomes homelessness and drugs to become youth worker

A Weston-super-Mare teenager who overcame homelessness, drugs and an eating disorder, has been inspired to pursue a career in youth work.

Chelsea Bell, 19, ended up homeless following a family breakdown, her life spiraled into drug addiction, and she also became dangerously anorexic.

She was battling a vicious circle of no money, no education, and no prospects, when she was referred to Weston Foyer in March 2016.

She said: “Since moving to the Foyer, I’ve turned my life around; I’ve been able to get a handle on my money, look into work and education that interests me and look forward to living in a place of my own for the first time in my life.
