During 1916 my husband were down town doing some business in the 200 block on Central Avr, we could not get the parking meter to work at all.
We were really trying everything. Due to the fact that a parking ticket would probably cost us $10.00 to $20.00 dollars my husband was ready to try to pull it out of the concrete. I happened to see a gentleman walking over to us. He asked if he could be of any help. We said yes if you know how to work this *** thing. He said that he thought he could get it to work. He took our credit card and behold that dumb meter accepted our card and then returned it to us. We chatted with the gentleman for a few minutes and offered to give him a tip for helping us. He refused but my husband put some money in his hand and thanked him for helping us. The gentleman continued going down the walk to the West. Oh, I forgot to tell you that nice polite gentleman was homeless.”
This was sent to us and we wanted to share it with you, too.
